B-Secur announces that it has joined the STMicroelectronics Partner Program in a development which will help accelerate the time to market for manufacturers of next-generation consumer wearable devices.
The Belfast-based company brings its medical grade, FDA-cleared HeartKey® software library to run on STM32*, the most popular microcontroller for wearable devices today.
The HeartKey® ECG algorithms uniquely combine user identification, health, and wellness information to generate accurate data encrypted through the user’s unique heartbeat.
Ben Carter, Chief Commercial Officer, B-Secur said: “Our participation in the ST Partner Program and collaboration with STMicroelectronics marks a key strategic milestone for B-Secur.
From day one we developed and optimised our powerful ECG algorithms to run in real time on STM32. We also provide a simple integration guide to help customers take our software library and integrate it onto STM32.
"Customers can now benefit from one of the world’s leading microcontrollers complemented by our FDA-cleared software library.
"Our working with ST means, if you are building a wearable device, such as premium smartwatches, we have got you covered all the way through the signal chain and with all the components you will need.
"It also helps manufacturers save precious time on R&D and enables them to bring devices to market faster and with greater confidence."
STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications created the ST Partner Program to help customers’ design teams access extra skills and resources to speed customer development efforts.
By identifying and making customers aware of ST-Partner companies with complementary products and services and adding a certification process that assures that all partners are periodically vetted for quality and competence, the ST Partner Program accelerates design and product development and shrinks time-to-market for new products.
