The technology, people and culture make B-Secur a great fit for me

Mark Bogart appointed new Senior VP of U.S. Healthcare

When Mark Bogart looked closely at B-Secur’s HeartKey® 2.0, he knew immediately it was ‘significant’ with the power to be a ‘game-changer’ in the rapidly evolving world of medical grade wearables and implantable medical devices.

The technology, combined with the people and culture, at B-Secur convinced Mark to accept the position of Senior Vice President (SVP) of U.S. Healthcare and begin charting a strategic course for the company’s expansion in America.

A former SVP for U.S. Healthcare with AliveCor, Mark brings vast experience of working in the digital health and wearables space. Prior to joining AliveCor, he worked for companies including, WebMD, BioTel Heart, LifeWatch, ZOLL Medical and Boston Scientific.

He said: “I’m really excited to be at B-Secur. It feels like a very good fit for me and I am confident I can leverage my experience in digital health and help the company’s expansion in the U.S.

“At this stage of my career it is not just about the product. The people I am working with and the culture of the company are very important to me.

“It is very apparent at B-Secur we have a group of people who are very passionate about what they do, working with great conviction and transparency.

“Since I have been here, I continue to be impressed by the quality of the people and the culture, and I am looking forward to adding value and working in collaboration with the team.”

One of Mark’s early priorities is to set a strategy for the U.S. seeking out appropriate customers based on B-Secur’s portfolio of products.

He added: “As we look to the future, we can’t be disruptive in the sense that we change our customers’ ways of working but instead we need to help enhance their productivity which will have impacts on care and the quality of clinical outcomes.

“Customers need to understand where and how they can utilise our solutions to drive significant differences in productivity, clinical decision making, and speed to diagnosis.

“In turn we need to listen to market feedback and migrate from engineer-based to market-based solutions.

“We need to really compartmentalise what we can do to help change the MedTech space and differentiate our place in the market. This is something I am looking forward to working on in line with our senior management team.”

Mark, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Lake Forest College, currently calls Florida home after a lot of moving around a lot during his career.

He lives in Siesta Key with his wife, daughter and his beloved Labradors and greatly enjoys the lifestyle in this part of America.

He said: “I live about 100 metres from a beach which is considered one of the top beaches in the U.S. and I just love it here in Siesta Key. I grew up in the Chicago area so to now live somewhere with great weather and where I can get to play golf year-round and live just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico, is very pleasing.

“We have a lot of family and friends in the area and really enjoy the people and culture here.

“I haven’t visited Northern Ireland yet, but I will be later next month and I’m really looking forward to the trip to B-Secur and meeting everyone.”
