Welcome to the team, Rebecca, Niall, Mike, and Michael! We only hire people we believe will make a difference here, and we’re proud to include you in the team. We look forward to helping you make waves and seeing what this next professional chapter will mean for you.

Let’s meet the new members of the B-Secur team:

  • Presently working on a PhD evaluating the use of a contactless thermal sensor to quantify sleep activity
  • Enjoys the ‘working from home’ life and regularly spend lunch breaks cycling with her dog

What is your role in B-Secur and what does that involve?
I recently joined B-Secur as an Algorithm Engineer. My role involves data analysis, algorithm design, validation and performance evaluation. My day-to-day work involves designing and validating algorithms in MATLAB. The role also requires research and an element of creativity.

What were your first impressions of B-Secur?
I came across B-Secur’s website and read about the HeartKey® FDA cleared ECG algorithms for health and wellness and was instantly uplifted about my transition from academia to industry.  After reading the B-Secur interviews and articles on the website, I immediately knew I wanted to work here. My first day at B-Secur was very relaxed and everyone was so friendly and inviting. After meeting all the teams and learning about their roles within the company I quickly felt like part of the family.

What are you looking forward to as you settle into B-Secur life?
I am looking forward to working with experts every day to design and evaluate algorithms for the HeartKey® library. I am excited to be working on the latest developments in ECG capabilities for health and wellness and to learn from all my colleagues whilst broadening my skill set. Covid permitting, I’m also looking forward to team events.

What is your role in B-Secur and what does that involve?
I am a Graduate Verification Engineer which means I have to test new app, firmware and algorithm releases to make sure everything runs okay.

What were your first impressions of B-Secur?
My first impressions of B-Secur were how lovely everyone is. On my first day, everyone was so welcoming and really made me feel at home. This is my first job after university so I was a bit nervous starting but right away everyone made me feel so comfortable and made sure I settled in well.

What are you looking forward to as you settle into B-Secur life?
I am really looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the ECG algorithms and seeing how much change we can make in the medical industry. The company is constantly growing so I’m very interested to see where we are in the coming years.

What were your first impressions of B-Secur?
My first impressions of B-Secur are very positive. Everyone I have met so far is friendly, professional, and ambitious. Which are values that align with my own.

What are you looking forward to as you settle into B-Secur life?
I am looking forward to helping B-Secur realise our full potential through commercialising our products to global Med Tech companies.

What is your role in B-Secur and what does that involve?
My role involves the research and development of novel ways for processing biomedical signals; which could result in additional features in the algorithm library. I’ll be working closely with the Data and Software teams to put the algorithms into practice in both physical devices and the cloud.

What were your first impressions of B-Secur?
B-Secur has been on my radar since starting my PhD three years ago. It has a reputation amongst academics as being the centre of excellence for ECG. I can really tell B-Secur cares about its employees. The company puts a lot of effort into inductions and making sure new starts are settled in. It was a great thing to see from day one.

What are you looking forward to as you settle into B-Secur life?
I am looking forward to putting my PhD into practice. Having seen what the company is working on at the minute, I am really excited that my previous work can feed into that. There is plenty of scope to learn new things too, with many exciting projects on the horizon. I am also looking forward to getting to know my colleagues with the upcoming company social events. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly, so no doubt I will enjoy my time here.
